Brady Adler wins FoF's Stars & Strikes with a lot of Strikes!!
We had two squads on the day with 55 bowlers in total!
We tried a few different things for this tournament. Including a new to us format (Pod Eliminators), using a challenge pattern (Route 66 V2), and a different handicap base (80% of 210). All of which we think worked well!
We paid our squad leaders an extra $60 for having the highest score from their qualifying squad. Zac Tackett shot 907 at 10AM while Bailey Mavrick led a stacked 2PM Squad with 984!
Brady would have been up there with them as he shot over 230 for 3 of his 4 games, but his 3rd game left him at the 6th seed. Which, unfortunately for him put him into the same pod as #1 Seed, Mavrick.
Brady snuck by the first few games with small 200s as the #1 seed actually struggled in his first game and lost in round 1 of the eliminator pod rounds.
While Brady was working on finding a look, lefty Michael Mossbarger had put together quite a day. He was the #2 Seed with 923 for qualifying, and so far in the eliminator rounds had games of 252, 220, and eventually 266 to make the final 3!
As Mossbarger finished up it was very clear that he had the best look in the building, but Brady Adler had just shot 247 with an open in the 10th to make the final 3 with Mossbarger. Joining them would be #3 seed, Jonathan Woods! He was putting together a quietly great day. 914 in qualifying followed by games of 252,184, and 246.
Our final 3 was an all Ohio final. They all made the trip and all left with big money!
Game 1 Brady proved to have found a great look with 245, even while moving to this new pair. Michael and Jonathan actually ended in a tie, as a spare-shooting mishap from Michael followed by a nice nine-spare strike 10th frame by Jonathan put them both at 227. Mossbarger wins the 9th/10th frame roll-off with a washout conversion, 35-28.
Our final game was not a close one, but Brady still made it fun! He threw the first 10 strikes before a 7 pin stopped his run at 300 and Free of Fear Photography's $100 Bonus! He beat Michael 289-199, receiving $1010!
